This year's charter competition for middle school students in Missouri will be more than an academic buzzer competition. Students from across the state will have the opportunity to meet others who are excited about science, and one team will ultimately have the chance to compete on the national stage. Additionally, Missouri Regional Science Bowl plans to incorporate enrichment activities that push students to apply the knowledge they've shown through the buzzer competition.
The goals of the Missouri Regional Science Bowl are as follows:
To encourage students in Missouri to become interested and involved in science and math at an early age
To provide a structure that can be a short-term goal for students just developing their own long-term goals, potentially increasing the numbers of students seeking science-oriented careers
To increase knowledge of science
To provide opportunities for students across Missouri to meet students with similar interests
